Michael Damion Booker

Michael "Boogs" Damion Booker Sr., 57, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. He was born on August, 10, 1968 at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh to Joseph Marshall and Evelyn Booker. Michael was largely raised by his grandmother, Evelyn Pitts, who was an important influence in his life.

Michael attended Upper Burrell Elementary School and graduated from Burrell Sr. High School. He also received a diploma in Electricity and Auto Body Repair from Northern Westmoreland Area, Vocational Technical School.

He worked for Mold Men of Pittsburgh for the past 5 years and prior to that he held several different jobs. Michael was always working on something. He didn't sit down for long periods of time, his hands always found something to do. Some of his hobbies included: working on cars, landscaping, fishing, cooking, plumbing and construction just to name a few. When working for family, Michael was known to start a project and leave it for months and sometimes years…. just ask his mother, Aunt Shawnne and Aunt Patrice. After his diagnosis Michael did not allow illness to stop him or slow him down; he worked up to the point where he became incapacitated and could no longer do it. He had a great sense of humor, was family oriented, enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, his siblings and especially hanging with his big brother Schmiddy.

Michael is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jennifer; his children: Leree, John (Sasha), Brandon (Samantha), Brianna, Gabriel, Alexis, Terrence, Dameion, a stepdaughter Brittinee Burke; fifteen grandchildren; his siblings: Maurice Booker, Shannon Bassett, Aaron Moore, Doran Booker, Courtney Abbitt and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Michael Damion Booker Jr., his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his nephew Lukas Booker.

Viewing will be Monday, March 9, 2026, from 5-8PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 11AM.
