Michael Russell Bozung, aged 71, passed away on October 4, 2024, in Ionia, Michigan. Born on May 8, 1953, Michael dedicated four years of his life to the U.S. Army, serving in Kentucky and Colorado from 1971 to 1974 as a computer systems operator.
For many years, Michael worked on the assembly line at the General Motors plant in Lansing, Michigan. He later became a receiving supervisor at Sysco in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Michael had a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace in nature. For many years he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, with an expertise many of his peers admired.
Michael was also a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers, NASCAR and country music; in earlier years he rode motorcycles; all passions that provided him with much curiosity and joy. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his bicycle.
He is survived by his children, Justin Bozung and Allison (Bozung) Johnson; one grandchild, Keera Johnson; his father, William Mann; sister Theresa (Craig) Stannard; brother, Patrick (Robi) Bozung.
He is preceded in death by his biological father, Russell Bozung, mother Mary (Fedewa) Mann, grandparents Leonard and Avis Fedewa, Louis and Alta Bozung, and nephew Matthew Edwards.
Michael's friendly nature and kind and loving heart left a lasting impact on his family and all who knew him.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
