Michael C. Brainard

Michael Charles Brainard, Mike, age 69 of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on May 31, 2024 at Wyoming Medical Center.
Michael was born in O'Neill Nebraska to George and Esther Brainard on May 26, 1955.  He went to high school at Natrona County High School and graduated in 1974. He worked for McIntosh Construction as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator from the time he graduated up until the closure of McIntosh Construction, then he went to work for Central Truck and Diesel for a short period of time before going to work for Grizzly Excavation, as truck driving and heavy equipment was in his blood.
Mike loved the great outdoors.  He loved fishing, camping, traveling, gambling, old cars and most of all riding in his polaris razor with family and friends.  Mike also had a love for sports and coaching his children’s teams. Though he struggled with pain and medical issues he had many, many wonderful adventures up until the time of his death.
Mike leaves behind his beloved wife Gloria of 44 1/2 years, of Casper, his amazing children, son Michael G. Brainard (Amber) of Casper, his daughter Kassandra (Kassie) Brainard Thomas of Laramie, Wy. His four wonderful grandchildren, John and Lorelei Brainard, Casper, Jonesy and Evelyn Thomas, Laramie. His two brothers, Lawrence Brainard of Yuma Arizona and Dean Brainard of Glenrock Wy, his three sisters, Beverly Cummings of Goodyear Arizona, Susan Schatza of Goodyear Arizona and Sandy Hutchison, of Fort Mauve Arizona.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther Brainard of Casper.
A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Casper, Wyoming.
