Michael Dewayne "Dirty Red" Bryant

September 5, 1967 ~ March 29, 2026

Michael Dewayne Bryant, Sr., 58, formerly of Marion, passed away at 10:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at U of L South Hospital in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 5, 1967.

He spent many years working in construction, a field where his skill, dedication, and quiet strength earned the respect of everyone who knew him. He also worked at Churchill Downs in Louisville and he absolutely loved working there. A deeply private man, he poured his heart into the people he loved and would go to any length to support and protect his family. He shared 26 cherished years with his beloved companion, Jammette, whose presence brought him constant joy. Above all, his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the time he spent with them was among his greatest treasures.

Michael is survived by Jammette Shavers-Bryant of KY; son, Marvin Brooklyn-Mason of KY; daughter, Jada (Kaden) Bennett of KY; sister, Tonka Wood of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Adryen Bryant, Maylin Bryant, Nalani Bennett, Sappphira Bennett, Mazikeen Bennett, Islah Bennett; niece, Tonischa Campbell of Marion; nephew, Rodriguez Davis of Marion; great-nephew, Jay'Laron (Jay) Campbell; favorite cousin, Stefanie Red of Marion; best friends, Earnest Anderson, Mark Cotton, and Ronald Fields.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Bryant; son, Michael Dewayne Bryant, Jr.; brothers, Anthony Dungey, William Russell Bryant; and sister, Kimbery Bryant-Black.

Contributions may be directed to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later time. Michael will be laid to rest at Grant Memorial Park 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
