Michael Glenn Buchanan, age 72, of Pounding Mill, VA, peacefully entered his eternal home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, VA

Born on January 29, 1954, in Warrior Mine, WV, he was the son of the late David Buchanan and Byna Ruth Branch Buchanan. Michael earned associate degrees in Education, Liberal Arts, and General Studies, reflecting his lifelong appreciation for learning. Though Multiple Sclerosis limited his physical mobility, it never hindered his spirit. Michael was a devout Christian whose life served as a quiet, powerful testament to his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He spent countless hours immersed in his Bible, finding constant companionship in God's presence. Despite enduring significant pain, he never complained, instead leaning on the Lord for strength and peace. He remained a profound inspiration to everyone blessed enough to cross his path.

His greatest earthly joy was found in his family, especially his daughter, Whitney, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Buchanan, and his sister, Janet Kaye Buchanan.

Funeral services for Michael Glenn Buchanan will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA, with the Revs Bill Feiss and Lonnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will accept friends from 1 pm until the time of the service.
