Michael "Mike" Burgett, age 69 of Mt. Juliet, was born on April 1, 1956 in Augusta, Georgia to his parents Jo Ann Burgett and the late Clarence "Toby" Burgett. He passed away on August 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

The Funeral Service will be held in the Heritage Chapel of Nashville First Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Jon Burgett, Brett Burgett, Alex Burgett, Tyler Whetstone, Connor Sugg, and Jeff Bryan serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 23rd from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.

In addition to his father Toby, Mike was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Bonnie Ferrell, and father-in-law Denver Ferrell. Mike is survived by his mother Jo Ann, his wife, Callie "Lisa" Sutton Burgett; children, David (Stephanie) Burgett, Adam (Claire) McKeever-Burgett, Cal (Anne) Burgett, and Carah Burgett; grandchildren, Jack Burgett, Wade McKeever-Burgett, and Liv McKeever-Burgett; brothers, Randy (Kim) Burgett and Darryl (Lori) Burgett; many loving nieces and nephews also survive.

Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University and went on to serve as a Civil Engineer (PE) with Gresham Smith for 30 years. Aside from his professional life, Mike worked in Guest Services for Vanderbilt Athletics and enjoyed attending Vanderbilt sporting events. He also enjoyed playing softball. Throughout Mike's involvement in Vanderbilt Athletics and softball, he made many meaningful connections and gained friendships that lasted for a lifetime.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
