Michael "Butch" Marushak Jr. Obituary
Michael Henry Marushak, Jr. (Butch) of Wilton, Connecticut passed peacefully on November 27, 2025 at his home at the age of 85.
He was born in Norwalk, CT on April 19, 1940 to Michael and Edna Marushak and grew up in Westport, CT until 1962 when he purchased his home in Wilton.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Joanne (Pettersen) Marushak and has three children, Krystyna and her partner Jeff, Michael and his wife Lynnae and Jane and her partner Michael. He has two beautiful and cherished grandchildren, Michael and Alyssa Marushak as well as his sister Barbara Jisonna, her husband Larry and several beloved nieces, nephews and close cousins.
He was the owner and operator of Commercial Refuse and was an avid and superiorly talented antique auto restorer. If he wasn’t working, he was in his barn tinkering on something metal or mechanical.
He graduated from Staples High School in Westport in 1958 and was known for his warmth, smile, and contagious laughter.
He was a very talented man who worked with his hands and was known for his strong work ethic. From building his home, restoring antique vehicles and always willing to lend a hand, to anyone. He was a member of the Antique Truck Club of America and attended many local car and truck shows with his various vehicles over the years.
He was a great man who always greeted you with his genuine smile and warmth, and was beloved by so many. He was a self made man, was respected by so many and always made you feel special, even if you just met.
The family wishes to thank the team of caregivers who lovingly dedicated themselves to his care and gave compassion and support to our family over this past year.
Funeral Services will be held at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall St. in Norwalk, CT, Friday, December 5th from 5 to 8 PM with a mass at Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown, CT Saturday December 6th at Noon..
