Michael Camacho, 66, of
San Marcos, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2026. Michael was a devoted father, grandfather, family man, and friend whose presence brought laughter, warmth, and comfort to everyone around him.
Michael worked as a chef, a role that reflected his love of bringing people together. Whether through a meal, music, or simply his larger-than-life personality, he had a gift for making others feel welcome. He loved anything that involved the outdoors, taking rides, and enjoying music. Known for his humor and vibrant spirit, Michael was often the light of the party, filling rooms with laughter and unforgettable stories.
Above all, Michael was a protective and deeply loving father and grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in those he loved. Known for giving affectionate nicknames, he made sure each of them knew how special they were to him.
Michael was known for many sayings, but one that those closest to him will always carry with them is "One day at a time." It reflected the way he lived his life - appreciating each moment and encouraging others to keep moving forward no matter what.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jovencio Camacho and Matilda Camacho; and his siblings, Gilbert Camacho, Bobby Camacho, Jovencio Camacho Jr., Dora Mendez, Norma Baez, and Mary Serna.
He is lovingly survived by his children and grandchildren - Amanda "Tilly", Malik "My Boy," Milo "Chiquito," Malik Holmes Jr. "Mr. Spanky," Debra, Arlando, Kali, and Jazzy - as well as his siblings Richard Camacho, Martha Villareal, and Eloisa Morin. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Michael will be remembered for his humor, his strength, his big heart, and the love he shared so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lessons he taught will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Until we meet again, we will carry your laughter, your love, and your words - "one day at a time" - in our hearts forever.
