MOULTONBOROUGH ---- Michael Paul Campbell, of Moultonborough, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after a brief but hard-fought battle with cancer, at home and surrounded by the love of his family. Quiet and soft spoken by nature, Mike's love for his family and friends spoke volumes without the need for words.
Michael was blessed to share his life with his love of 44 years, Mary (Nightingale) Campbell, his high school sweetheart and the one true love of his life. Their bond was built on deep devotion, unwavering support and genuine friendship. To Michael,
Mary was his everything. He loved her deeply, cherished their life together and found joy in both the big moments and the simple, everyday ones they shared. Their greatest joy was the family they created together, raising their children, Saré and Zackery, and later welcoming their grandchildren, Madeline and Henry, who were the light of his life.
Born in Caribou, Maine, Michael graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1981 before serving four years in the United States Navy with honor. Following his service, he pursued his passion for carpentry, dedicating 28 years to Cormack Construction. His meticulous craftsmanship, strong work ethic and honesty earned him widespread admiration. His work shaped the landscape of the Lakes Region, leaving an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Beyond his career, Michael found peace on the water as an avid fisherman. Winters were often spent tying flies, preparing for the spring and fall seasons when he could cast his lines across the beautiful Lakes Region. Fishing was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of his patience, artistry and deep appreciation for nature. Above all, Mike found joy in helping his children. Whether it was a household project or a repair that needed doing, he was always there, quietly, skillfully and with a father's pride.
Michael is survived by his wife Mary, his children, Saré Campbell and Zackery (Angelina) Adams, and his treasured grandchildren, Madeline and Henry. He also leaves behind his mother, Mary Campbell of Fort Fairfield, ME, his twelve siblings, Sharon Perrault, Patricia (Wayne) Troike, Roger (Jean) Campbell, Barbara (Stuart) Turner, David (Sherrill) Campbell, Gary (Jackie) Campbell, James (Toni) Campbell, Susan Campbell, Roberta (David) Lasater, Joan (Sean) Bernard, Janet (Mark) Giberson and Kimberly (Kevin) Senal, and 43 beloved nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his father, Robert Louis Campbell.
The family is deeply grateful for the generous love and support from dear friends, neighbors and the Melvin Village Community Church. They're especially thankful to all who drove for Rides for Michael. Your kindness has been a true blessing.
The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Moultonborough Family Medicine, the Oncology Department at Speare Memorial Hospital and the Lakes Region VNA for their exceptional care and compassion throughout Michael's treatment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to the Lakes Region Conservation Trust (lrct.org), honoring his love for nature and the landscapes he cherished.
There will be no calling hours.
