Michael Cetta Jr.

MICHAEL CETTA, JR., 84, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Dix Hills, NY before settling in Jackson Twp., 18 years ago.
Michael worked as a manager for Peerless Distributors in Brooklyn, NY, before retiring in 2008. He also played shortstop for the NY Yankees Farm Team.
Mr. Cetta served in the U.S. Army and received the Good Conduct Medal.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Carmela Cetta. He is survived by his wife, Elvira, of 57 years; his sons, Richard Guarino and his wife Rosemary, of Westchester, Pa., and James Guarino and his wife MaryEllen, of Downingtown, Pa. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Joe Guarino, and his wife Kirsten, Rick Guarino, Alexandra Guarino, Alyson Hoots and her husband, Brandon, Natalie Guarino, and Jimmy Guarino; and his two great-grandchildren, Greyson Hoots, and Mikey Colman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael's visitation on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 3-7PM, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 7AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 8AM, at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. Charles' Cemetery, Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3551 North Broad St., Phila.
