A proud graduate of Helias High School, Michael dedicated many years to his work at Adrian Enterprise, Shelter Roofing, the Callaway Nuclear Plant, and as a contract driver for the Postal Service. He was known for his hard work and unwavering commitment to his jobs.
Michael had a passion for life that was evident in his love for NASCAR and football. He cherished time spent with family, particularly his grandchildren, Rhakala and Gabrielle. Known for his warm spirit, he never met a stranger and had a unique ability to crack jokes and bring smiles to those around him. As the years passed, his tough exterior revealed a gentle heart, full of love for animals and his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lana; daughter, Ashley Blackmon (Romelle); sisters, Marilyn Nobbman, Margaret Wekamp, and Linda Oliver (Keith); sister-in-law, Patty Champlain; brother-in-law, Hossein Dashtaki; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donnie and Joe Dean; sisters, Sharon and Mary Sue; brothers-in-law, Larry Nobbman and Marvin Wekamp; and his mother and father-in-law, John and Dorothy Jones.
Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. officiated by Father Medina. Burial will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness and laughter will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
