Lana Kay Champlain, 75, of New Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Jefferson City, Lana was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Schatzer) Jones. She graduated from Jefferson City High School and went on to dedicate much of her life to caring for others, running a daycare from her home for many years. Known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit, Lana created a space where countless children felt safe, loved, and valued.

Lana found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading, coloring, being around her animals, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Her quiet strength, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Ashley Blackmon (Romelle); her sister-in-laws, Marilyn Nobbman, Margaret Wekamp, and Linda Oliver (Keith), Patty Champlain; brother-in-law, Hossein Dashtaki; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Lana was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Mike; her parents; brother-in-laws, Larry Nobbman, Marvin Wekamp, Donnie Champlain Joe Dean Champlain; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Mary Sue; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lana's life on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Father Medina. Interment will take place at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Lana's life was defined by love, care, and quiet devotion. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriner's of Jefferson City or to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
