Michael Allen Chesler, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, Michigan at the age of 58. A funeral service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 520 West Main St., Owosso, MI. Rev. Dr. Tom Rundel will officiate. Interment immediately following at Hillcrest Cemetery in Owosso. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2,2025 at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service.
Born on March 27, 1967, in the same close-knit town of Owosso, Michael's journey began as the cherished son of Lawrence and Barbara (Lepley) Chesler. His life was rich with the bonds of family, growing up alongside his four beloved siblings-Katrina, Clayton, Christopher, and Shawn. Michael's roots ran deep in Shiawassee County, where he attended Perry High School and established lifelong friendships.
Michael's dedication to his family and community was evident in everything he did. He was strong and resilient and maintained the support of his siblings who survive him, Katrina Chesler, Clayton Chesler, Christopher Chesler, and Shawn Chesler, and he held a special place in the hearts of his several nieces and nephews. Though his parents and a few dear family members preceded him in death, including a great-niece, Kandice Hogue; a great-nephew, Christopher Michael Chesler; and several aunts, uncles, and a cousin, Michael's legacy of love and laughter will continue to echo through the lives of those he left behind.
Professionally, Michael's work ethic and friendly demeanor were well-known at Regal Plastics and Sunburst Gardens, where he contributed his skills and brightened the days of his colleagues.
Michael's passion for life extended to his love for music which was a constant source of joy, as he skillfully played the drums and his electric guitar. AC/DC was his all-time favorite Australian Rock Band. He was also an avid cyclist and motorcycle enthusiast, feeling most alive with the wind in his hair and the open road ahead. These interests were not mere hobbies but extensions of his adventurous and creative nature.
Michael's absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will serve as a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and cancer.org.
