Michael Lee Christopher

1943 - 2023

Michael Christopher was born November 13, 1943, to the union of the late James Alton Christopher and Alane Bracy Christopher. He was born into a family of 11 siblings. On December 28, 1967 he married a proven lifelong partner the late Cynthia Ann Christopher. He was born; raised and started his journey in Marion County however, later continued that journey in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nurtured by his parents, Michael had a knowledge of God early in life. Within his marriage, he further developed his relationship with God. As he reared children, he along with his late wife began to impart the mysteries of God into them. He has fellowshipped with several Pastors and their churches in the Greater New Orleans and surrounding areas. Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Naully Paul Jr., later Holy Ghost Revival Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Moses Mason, and later Temple of Prayer E.O.D. Ministries Inc. under the leadership of his wife until her passing, then under his daughter Pastor Brandy C. Green and so on. Michael spent most of his life as a Mechanical Engineer, a craft taught to him by his late father. He could fix and create almost anything! He was a man of very few words but worked wonders with his artistic workmanship. Working on cars was his passion and after spending many years working for a mechanic shop, he started his own with a partner called Gravediggers. He could resurrect any engine, motor, transmission, car, and knew how to work restoration to any part of a vehicle. Michael leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his love and devotion his children: daughters Nicole R. Christopher-Bellanger, Kashander Christopher-Albertie, Michelle Christopher, Brandy Christopher-Green, Trish Christopher, and son Micheal Christopher Jr. Sons-in-law Ronald Green, Pastor Stanley Albertie, Tony Bellanger, daughter-in-law Cristal Recendez-Christopher. Grandchildren: Bryant Davis, Cynthia L. Christopher, Jonathan Christopher, Joshua Christopher, Willie Houston, Cherrish Short-Christopher, Christopher Bellanger (by marriage) and a bundle on the way. Sibling and spouses: Willie Christopher, Maybell & Larry Brister, Essie Christopher-Hammond, Linda Gail-Lewis, Alice Ruth & Ike Smith, Alton & Marie Christopher, Johnny Lee & Faye Christopher, and Hattie B & Eugene Bullock. His friend Vera Sterling. He was preceded by his parents, his loving wife, and three siblings. He precedes a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service honoring the life of Mr. Michael Lee Christopher at Greater Mount. Calvary Baptist Church, 1600 Westwood Drive, Marrero, LA 70072 on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am until 10:00 am. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery.
