Michael M. Clarry, known affectionately as "Mike," passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, at the age of 63 in Owings, MD. Born on April 12, 1961, in Copaigue, NY, Mike was a charismatic, witty, and humorous individual who made a significant impact on everyone he met.
Mike graduated from Calhoun High School in Merrick, NY and furthered his education at Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY. He built a successful career in food service management, holding notable positions such as General Manager of Food Service Operations at Sodexo for Computer Associates and the National Security Agency, Site Manager for Oce Business Services, Field Operations Manager for Charles County Public Schools, and Director of Dining Operations at St. George’s University in Grenada. He also founded Serenity Food Safety, contributing greatly to the industry.
A parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach, MD, Mike was involved in his community through the Knights of Columbus. He was a connoisseur of cuisine, known to many as “the food guy.” His hobbies included cooking, reading, woodworking, and “tinkering,” which brought him much joy and allowed him to express his creative side.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia Clarry; and three loving children, Ryan Clarry, Caroline Clarry Wagner (Taylor Wagner), and Kevin Clarry; and his granddaughter, Lila Wagner. He also leaves behind his siblings Tommy, Jimmy, Kathy, Danny, Billy, Marylou, Rose, and Jerry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas P. Clarry and Helen S. Clarry, as well as his siblings Richard, George, Ellen, and Patricia.
Services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach, MD. Visitation will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life luncheon will immediately follow in the parish hall.
Lee Funeral Home of Calvert at 8200 Jennifer Rd, Owings, MD 20736 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mike. He is sorely missed and his legacy of kindness, leadership, and hard work will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
