Michael F. Clifford, 86, of Iselin, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at JFK Hospital in Edison surrounded by his family.
Born in Dublin, Ireland to the late Martin and Anne Clifford, he moved to Elizabeth, NJ in 1959, and later to Iselin in 1979. He worked for Reichhold Chemicals and Hoechst Celanese as a Chemical Operator.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Army and a parishioner at St. Cecelia's RC Church in Iselin. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, Irish dinner dances with friends and was an avid NY Mets and Manchester United fan.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Jack Clifford, Vincent Clifford, Paddy Clifford, Maura Mulderrig, and
Anne Clifford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Teresa (Meehan); his children, Michael G. and his wife Lauren of Colonia, Mary Olejarczyk and her husband Thomas of Helmetta, and John and his wife Nancy of Spotswood; his 4 grandchildren, Kristen, Michael, Kate, and Matthew; his sister, Margaret Wisely and her husband Larry of Dublin, Ireland; and many nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4 to 8pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green Street, Iselin 08830. The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 9:15am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home
followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Cecelia RC Church in Iselin. The interment will be at St.
Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
