Michael Cochrane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hope Memorial Chapel - Biddeford on Jan. 22, 2026.
Michael B. Cochrane, aged 54 years, of New Gloucester, ME, died peacefully January 19, 2026, at his home with his wife and step-daughter by his side. Leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him forever. He was the beloved husband of Jan-Elizabeth (Violante) Cochrane. Born Tuesday, February 23, 1971 in Quincy, MA, he was the son of the late Charles G. Cochrane II and the late Arlene A. (Nord) Cochrane.

Mike attended Middleboro High School. He lived in Middleboro, MA since 1972 before moving to Maine in 2003. A hard worker throughout his life, Michael dedicated 18 years to Lowe's, where he was respected for his dedication, skill, and dependability.

Michael was known for his passions and strong personality. A lifelong NASCAR lover, he lived for the thrill of racing, and one of his greatest joys was when his wife, Beth, surprised him with the fulfillment of his dream-attending the Talladega races a few years back, a memory he treasured deeply. He was also a true metal head, with a deep love for music from legendary bands such as Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden, among many others. He also loved Outlaw Country such as Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson among others. Mike surprised Beth with a concert to see Hank Williams Jr a few years back which they both enjoyed very much. He especially loved being outside, blasting his favorite tunes for all to hear on his stereo system, fully enjoying the music he loved. Mike also loved camping, hiking and sitting by the fire pit out in their backyard - but most importantly his Family.

Michael was the loving and devoted father to Amanda Gracia of Somerset, MA, Myra Dooley of Saint Augustine, FL. Stepfather to Kirsten Cambra of New Bedford, MA, Jay Cambra and his wife Lauren Nicole of Laveen AZ, Lauren Marie Cambra of Springvale, ME. 9 grandchildren Tanner Gracia and Bodie Del Solio, Brooklynne, Kassidy and Julien Costa, Raelyn and Adrianna Cambra, Wesley and Rory Cambra.

He is also survived by his siblings, Charlene Cochrane, Karen Nelson and Daniel Cochrane, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronald Cochrane and Charles Cochrane Ill.

Michael had a deep love for dogs, especially Mastiffs, Bullmastiffs, and American Bulldogs. He leaves behind his three beloved dogs, Butkus, Bella, and Blayz, and was preceded in death by his cherished dogs Tye, Beulah, and Daisy, who held a special place in his heart.

Michael was a simple man, but a good man-the kind of person who would do anything for anyone without hesitation but wanted nothing in return. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his steady presence, and the memories he created that will live on through those who knew him best.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered!
