Michael Anthony Cole, 65, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 20, 1960, in Westfield, Massachusetts, to his parents Ronald and Kathryn (Mango) Cole.
After graduating from Westfield High School in 1978, Mike worked for Pepsi before discovering his passion for his life's work in kitchen design. He co-founded Competitive Kitchen Designs in West Springfield, Massachusetts in 1992, where he spent over 30 years using his creativity and vision, building lifelong relationships with customers and colleagues.
Mike was an avid cyclist, motorcyclist, skier, and hiker. He would never miss a chance to get outside, whether it was going on long bike rides on the weekends with friends, first tracks up or down the mountain, or an extra lap on a day of great skiing. He loved nothing more than sharing these activities with others, especially his kids. Mike also loved spending time with his beloved grand-dog Nora, who brought him so much joy and comfort.
Mike is survived by his parents Ronald and Kathryn, wife Donna (Boylan), son Andrew and his wife Sarah, daughter Samantha and her husband Matthew, daughter Victoria "Tori", brother Ronald and his wife Ann, sister Liane Howard and her husband Dan, sister Beth Reed, as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Mike passed after living resiliently with brain cancer, showing up each day with a smile. He lived as comfortable as possible thanks to his children and their partners. His family would like to express their gratitude to his amazing team at Sister Caritas Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 17th from 4-7pm at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street in Westfield, Massachusetts. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 18th at 10:30am at Saint Mary's Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Neuro-Oncology Treatment Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. https://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/site/Donation2?df_id=10522&mfc_pref=T&10522.donation=form1. www.firtionadams.com
