Michael "Mick" Collins
June 2nd, 1949 - January 7th, 2026 Aurora, CO.
Michael "Mick" Collins passed away at Sky Ridge Hospital in Lone Tree, CO surrounded by the prayers of those who loved him. A graduate of London City College, Mick’s career was a testament to his drive; he worked his way from apprentice to Vice President of Customer
Service for BT Americas. His expertise led him to consulting in the U.S. and Bahamas, and ultimately to a Vice President role for Level 3 Communications, which brought him to Colorado. After several leadership roles in the Denver telecommunications and software industry, he retired to "enjoy life"—spending his time in the garden, cheering for Chelsea, and being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Katie; his children, Stuart and Nicola (Dean) Jones; and his Grandchildren Alice, Sophie, Dylan and Phoebe. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Mitchell (Kayla) Hockabout and McKenna (Jayden) Villanueva; and his step-grandchildren Courtney, Lalo, Luis, Lucy and Romeo. He is also survived by several nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Elsie Collins. The family thanks everyone for their love, prayers and support. Mick was deeply loved and will be forever remembered. Remembrance service will take place at Horan & McConaty Southeast Denver / Aurora in the Chapel on Thursday, January 15 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate a donation in his honor to one Mick’s favorite charities: Save the Aurora Reservoir (STAR), Colorado Puppy Rescue, or Wild Horse Refuge.
