Michael Dale Cooper

Michael Dale Cooper, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2026. He was born in Elizabeth, WV, on December 23, 1956, and is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Louise "Gail" (Cooper) Starcher and Bobby Jack Starcher.

He is survived by sons Brian, Brandon (Jana), Michael (Jessica), Matthew, Joseph (Taylor), Adam (Elizabeth), daughter Jennifer Bradford (Tony), & grandchildren Kayla & Chloe Cooper of Hilliard; Lillian, Leila & Sophia Cooper of Massillon; Thomas Cooper of Brewster; Zelena, Italia & Joviana Cooper of Medina, Francis Cooper of Massillon; Ashleigh & Madison Bradford of Florida. Surviving him also are his sister Deborah Starcher, and brother Doug (Becky) Starcher of Grantsville WV; nephews & niece Cody, AJ & Kylie.

Mike was an advocate for inclusion and opportunity for his son, Brian, at an early age, and for others who followed. He loved his time as stay-at-home dad and was proud of his children's accomplishments. He enjoyed being outdoors (hunting, fishing, gardening) and shared with his sons the love of hunting & fishing (especially in the "hollers" of West Va). He served in the U.S. Army and was always willing to help when called on by family members. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Services

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, 02/07/2026, at Liberty Baptist Church; 2349 Southway St SW, Massillon, OH 44646.

Calling hours will be from 2:00pm - 3:00pm, with services to follow at 3:00pm. A dinner will be served directly after the service.
