Michael J. Coughlin, affectionately known as "Monkey," was born on March 22, 1954, and passed away on October 25, 2025. He lived a life filled with joy, characterized by his fun-loving demeanor and easy-going nature. Michael was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with loved ones.
Throughout his life, he had a range of hobbies and interests that included working on cars, enjoying a cold beer, particularly Busch Light, fishing, and simply being around people who made him smile. His warm personality drew many to him and made him a cherished friend and family member.
Michael is survived by his sons, Cody Allen (Ashley) Coughlin and Michael Christopher Coughlin. He was a proud grandfather to Robbie, Brady, Alaina, Mason, Oakley, Breanna, Joseph, Aiden, and DJ. Michael is also survived by his sister, Susan (Chuck) Garinger, and his brothers, Thom (Dana) Coughlin and Stephen (Bonnie) Coughlin, along with his sister Paula (Bruce) Tokar.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Leo Coughlin, his mother, Mary Pauline Coughlin, his wife, Maureen Coughlin, and his brother, Kevin Coughlin.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A viewing will be held on November 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM. Michael J. Coughlin will be deeply missed but will always be remembered for his love and kindness.
