Robert “Rob” Ricchiuti, 62, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2025. Born in 1963 to William and Ann Ricchiuti, Robert grew up in Hazlet,New Jersey, where he developed his sharp intellect, quiet confidence, and a subtle but unforgettable sense of humor. He graduated with honors from Raritan High School in 1980.
Robert’s life was marked by service, devotion, creativity, and an unwavering dedication to the people he loved. In 1982, he met Sheryl Farlow, and the following year they welcomed the greatest joy of his life — his daughter, Chrystal. Becoming a father defined him in the most profound way. He was endlessly proud of Chrystal, and in time, equally proud to be “Grandpa” to Brooklyn, Sophia, and Isabella Miller, who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Answering a call to serve his country, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy, where he worked as a Radioman Communications Engineer with top-secret security clearance. He carried immense pride for his military service and was honorably discharged in 1986.
After leaving the Navy, Robert moved to Columbus, Ohio, and pursued his passion for technology at DeVry University, earning both his associate degree and his bachelor’s degree, which he completed in 1994. He then returned to New Jersey and embarked on a career that blended his love for the arts with his talent for leadership and organization. With this connection in skills and career he then moved to Manhattan, NY.
A Life on Broadway
Robert began his Broadway career with a mix of curiosity, ambition, and genuine love for the arts. What started as small acting opportunities blossomed into a decades-long career behind the scenes — a world where he truly shined. He became a trusted and respected presence in the ticketing and administrative side of theater operations, eventually earning the role of Treasurer of the Box Office, a position requiring precision, integrity, and the calm steady temperament that came naturally to him.
He worked with several iconic theaters, including the Longacre theatre, Lincoln Center, the Beaumont, the Walter Kerr, and the Eugene Oneill, each with its own history, energy, and community. Robert navigated that fast-paced environment with remarkable professionalism. Colleagues knew him as the person who could solve a problem, manage a rush, or support a team — all without losing his witty humor or quiet warmth.
Robert loved the rhythm of Broadway: the buzz of a lobby before curtain, the familiar faces of performers and crews, the controlled chaos of sold-out shows, and the satisfaction of knowing he played a vital role in bringing live theater to audiences from around the world. His work supported award winning productions, rising stars, and unforgettable performances, and he cherished being part of an industry where creativity and discipline met every single day.
He was also an incredibly proud and dedicated union member of the Treasurers and Ticket Sellers Union Local 751.
Even after retiring from theater, Robert carried those stories with him — stories of long nights, big productions, unexpected challenges, and the camaraderie found only in the heart of Times Square. Broadway wasn’t just his workplace; it was one of his greatest adventures.
Robert was a member of the New York Dining Club for over twenty years. He made many lifelong friends that felt like family.
In 2023, Robert returned to Ohio to live out his retirement, choosing quieter days and the comfort of family. He enjoyed reflection, simple routines, and the profound joy of watching his granddaughters grow.
Robert is survived by his daughter Chrystal (Ricchiuti) Miller, his son-in-law Josh Miller, and his beloved granddaughters Brooklyn, Sophia, and Isabella.
He is also survived by his father William Ricchiuti. His two brothers, Bill (Irene) Ricchiuti and Thomas (Cathleen) Ricchiuti. Two sisters, Ann Marie (Michael) Ferrara and Margaret Ricchiuti. Also survived by three nieces, Irene (James) Defoe, Teresa Ricchiuti, and Mary Ricchiuti; and five nephews; Brian Ricchiuti, Thomas Ferrara, Nicholas Ricchiuti, Jonathon Ricchiuti and Jake Ricchiuti.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Ricchiuti.
Robert will be remembered for his sharp mind, steadfast loyalty, his honorable military service, his remarkable Broadway career, and above all, the love he held for his family. His legacy continues in the stories he shared, the stages he helped support, and the family who carries his memory forward.
