Mr. Michael D. Covington, 56, of the Union City Community, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, surrounded by his wife and family.
Michael was born on April 24, 1968, in Richmond Kentucky, the son of Johnny & Ann Covington. He was a graduate of Madison Central High School – Class of 1986, and a hard working family man who loved his family dearly. Rock hunting, arrowhead collecting and watching UK Basketball and NASCAR were among the things he enjoyed but his greatest joy and most prized title was that of Granddad.
He is survived by: his wife of 33 years, Dena Allman Covington; his parents, Johnny & Ann Covington; his sons, Colton Covington (Kira) & Case Covington (Emily); his grandchildren, Cannon Michael Covington & Wrenley June Covington; his brother, John Covington (Missy); his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Mike & Sandy Allman; one brother-in-law, Adam Allman; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his "Grandaddy", Walker Covington; his "Mamaw", Hazel Covington; his "Pa" William Hendricks; and "Granny", Shirley Hendricks.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation and Celebration of Eternal Life, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Union City Baptist Church, 2502 Doylesville Road, Richmond.
