It is with great sadness that the family of Michael B. Danzig announces his passing on April 27, 2025, at the age of 83.
Michael was born February 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of George and Carly (Wexley) Danzig and grew up in Danbury, CT. A graduate of Danbury High School, Michael went on to graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology in Industrial Engineering. He then attended Walsh College in Canton for Accounting. He also received his Ohio License as a Professional Engineer.
Michael's career with industrial engineering spanned nearly 40 years with companies throughout NE Ohio including seeing him as the Facilities Manager at Ohio Rubber in Willoughby and as the CEO of the Medical Company whose clients were Case Western University, University Hospital and the Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. After leaving the Medical Company, he became a director of Dominion Power.
Michael was involved in many local government positions which included being a Trustee of Concord Township, member of the Concord Township Zoning Board, and the Lake County Land Use Commission. He was also involved with the Painesville Township Schools as the Chairman of the Riverside High School PTA. Throughout his life he exhibited leadership in several civic and business affiliations such as the Rotary Club of Cleveland among other civic clubs such as Junior Achievement and other positions in helping the community in which he lived become better for others.
Michael was deeply involved with several antique car clubs his life. He collected several cars, mostly brass era, throughout his adult life. He was President of the Western Reserve Chapter of Ohio AACA and belonged to Snappers Brass and Gas, AACA and the Horseless Carriage Club of America. His love of antique cars had him touring in most of the United States and in parts of Canada with his wife and sons.
He enjoyed hiking the outdoors and was a member of the Holden Arboretum. He believed in keeping the environment safe for all to enjoy. Michael shared his life with his wife, Audrey for 59 years after they met in Canton, Ohio. They raised their family in Concord Twp, Ohio before moving to Chardon Township, Ohio.
Michael is survived by his wife, Audrey (Ficker) of Chardon Township, his sons Brian of Fredericksburg, VA, Douglas of Dublin, Ohio., grandchildren Tyler Danzig (Brian), Lauren and Nicholas Danzig (Douglas).
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on June 21, 2025, at The Lodge at Bass Lake, 426 South Street,
Chardon, Ohio 44024.
