Mike was a mentor, colleague but most of all a friend. I worked with Mike for several years but continued to stay in touch after we both retired. It was an honor knowing him. He will be missed.

I was honored to serve with Mike throughout his tenure at AAHPERD! We did not always agree but we were both committed to our field and those worked in the respective specialties! We supported the diversity, physical activity as essentail to health and excellence in practice and research! Mike had a great wit and a big heart for everyone! May he RIP.

Mike was a wonderful professional and great friend. He had a great sense of humor and a (some would say) wicked laugh. So many great memories over the years. Rest in peace my friend.

I served along side Mike in the MW District and later in AAHPERD on the Board of Directors. He was a gentleman, dedicated and passionate professional, mentor and friend. His spirit will live on through the many he influenced across the country but especially among the old guard in MW. My sincerest condolences. Deb Berkey (E.D. SHAPE MICHIGAN)

I worked with Mike for a few years at AAHPERD and truly enjoyed our conversations on medicine, Yiddish, and ethics. He gave me many opportunities to learn and grow professionally, and I am grateful our paths crossed.

Mike was one in a million. He and I had a great time measuring the speed of a paint gun pellet using his high-frame-rate camera. I will always remember him as a generous and wonderful colleague with a rare sense of wit.
