A proud graduate of Woodhaven High School, Michael continued his education with college courses before embarking on a rewarding career with Delta Airlines. He dedicated 25 years of service as a ramp agent before his medical retirement.
Michael was known for his quick wit and the ability to tell the best jokes, often bringing smiles to those around him. He loved spending time playing cards, especially Pinnacle and Poker, and was always up for a good game with friends and family. A fitness enthusiast, Michael took pride in working out regularly, balancing his love for physical activity with his love for pizza and donuts. Music played a vital role in his life-he was a devoted rock and roll fan, attending concerts of bands like AC/DC and Iron Maiden, which inspired him to learn guitar and play in his own time. An outdoorsman at heart, Michael enjoyed fishing and cherished moments spent outside in nature. Additionally, he had a hidden talent for drawing, a craft he was proud of and kept close to his heart. He was also a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions.
Michael's warmth, humor, and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, music, and friendship that will continue to inspire those who loved him. He is survived by his children, Michael A. Day, Emily Day, Christian Day, and Ally Day; a stepson Joshua (Kelly) Dokey; mother Rosalyn Day; brothers William (Tammy) Day and Samuel (Audrey) Day; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Michael is preceded in death by his father William Day, his grandfather Samuel Sanfilippo, and dear friend Jason Ratliff.
Visitation will be held on September 3, 2025, from 1:00pm until 8:00pm at Czopek Funeral Home; 2157 Oak St, Wyandotte, MI 48192. A celebration of Michael's life will be held on September 4, 2025 at 11:00am also at the funeral home.
