March 12, 1951 – August 21, 2023Mike Dillon was born to Vincent P. Dillon and M. Louise Dillon in St. Louis, Missouri on March 12, 1951. He moved to Ironton, Missouri in 1953 when parents opened a paint store. Mike played keyboards in a band, "The Vectors," and made his 1st record at age 16, which included the songs Paisley Haze and Cry a Thousand Tears. Mike was a Personnel Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army (1971-1972) serving at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. After serving in the military, he went to college at Mineral Area College in Flat River, Mo., graduating in 1975 with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and Music. After graduation, he served as a Police Officer in Ironton, Missouri. Mike's daughter, Chastidy R. Dillon-Amelung, was born in 1976. Mike also worked at Amax Lead Co. in Bixby, Mo., as a laborer and, for many years, traveled, playing music in a Top 40 music group, which included playing at Disneyworld. Mike's second record, made in 1979 with the band, "Punkinoodle," in Florida, featured Songwriter and Through Your Eyes. In 1985, he served as a State Police Officer at Florida State University Police Department in Tallahassee, Florida. In 1995, he became a State Security Officer at Southeast Missouri Mental Health in Farmington, Mo. In 2002, he served as a Corrections Officer at Eastern Reception and Diagnostic Correctional Center in Bonne Terre, Mo. On January 9, 2006, Mike reunited with the love of his life, his "Baby Doll" and relocated to Cocoa, Fl., in 2007. Once in Cocoa, he began driving for Cocoa Beach Shuttle/Canaveral Bus and in 2008 became a school bus driver for Brevard District Schools. He married his "Baby Doll" in 2010, becoming united as family with Danny, the son he always wanted. Mike retired in 2019.
