It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Dirscherl, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and husband, who left us on March 6, 2025. Born on January 5, 1955, in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was a true son of the city, living all his 70 years in the area that he loved dearly. Michael was a proud Eagles, Penn State, and Phillies fan, especially when they were winning. Michael was a retired sheet metal worker from Local 19 and was proud of his contributions to the construction of numerous memorable projects in the area.
Michael was a man of many layers; he was as witty as he was loving, and as stubborn as he was generous. He was known for his strong opinions, especially when it came to dessert and Bloody Marys. Mike loved to share stories and anecdotes, bringing you into an often hilarious and hard to believe situation or misadventure. His resilience in the face of life's challenges was a testament to his strength and an inspiration to all who knew him.
Michael's love for the shore and fishing was only surpassed by his love for his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Donna, to whom he was married on October 8, 1977. They shared an eternal love, affection, and appreciation for one another through life's ups and downs. Michael was a dedicated father to his children, Brianne and Christopher (Renee), and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Jaide, Colin, Frankie, Kaiden, Clara, and Baby M. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy (Richard), Daniel (Donna), and Robert. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dorothy, and his sister, Marianne. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Temple Hospital staff who treated him with kindness and dignity in his all too frequent stays.
Relatives and friends may greet Mike's family on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:15 am - 10:15 am at St. Matthew's RC Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19149. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at the same location. Interment will be held at a later date. As we come together to celebrate Michael's life, we remember not just his passing, but the joy, laughter, and love he brought into our lives. We invite you to share your memories of Michael and upload photos to his memorial page. In doing so, we can ensure that his spirit continues to live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
