Michael J. Dobos

Michael J. Dobos, 54, of Wyckoff and formerly of Hamilton Square, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, with his family by his side at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.
Born in Trenton, Michael's pleasures through the years came from the social inclusions provided to him and other residents by the staff of ECCR/HOPE. His favorite certainly was the countless Sunday afternoon visits by his dad. They shared Cheese Puffs, pudding, sodas and thousands of hours watching Flintstone reruns. When his family joined, the routine was exactly the same and he loved it! We knew it. His smile and recognition of each one of us was always with a glance or side-eye followed by gently touching foreheads. It was his thanks to you for showing up; for being there that day.

Heaven has gained one of the purest souls put on this earth. Truly an angel sent to our family to make us stronger and better people. Michael, "May God hold you in the palm of his hand".

Predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Anna and John Reynolds and paternal grandparents, Charles and Anna Dobos; he is survived by his parents, Judith Ann (Reynolds) and Charles S. Dobos of Bordentown; his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Ann and Jim Poinsett of Bordentown; his brother, Stephen C. Dobos of Cherry Hill; his niece, Marianna Dobos of Cherry Hill; his nephews, Anthony Dobos of Cherry Hill, and Daniel and Michael Poinsett of Bordentown; his aunts and uncles, Joyce and Paul Reynolds of Brant Rock, MA, William Dobos of Toms River and Carol Perilli of Hamilton; and many cousins and close family friends.

A special, heartfelt thanks and credit to Eastern Christian Children's Retreat (currently HOPE Christian Services) faculty and staff for their years of dedicated care and service to Michael, especially Roberta Gillespie, who for decades received, cared for and treated him as one of her own children and his Hope Christian family.

Celebration of Life services for Michael will be private followed by entombment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael's memory to the Hope Christian Services, 700 Mountain Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
