Mrs. Myrtle Goodwin Dobos, at the age of 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. She is predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Dobos, Jr. and resided at their home in Northfield, CT for 74 years. She moved to Florida in 2019 to be with her 3 children.
Mrs. Dobos was born September 7, 1926 in Avon, CT and moved to Torringford, where she spent her childhood years. She was the daughter of Aden & Daisy (Twinning) Goodwin. A graduate from Torrington High School in 1945.
She will be remembered for her "sweet" nature and being. Enjoyment was spending time with her large extended family and her circle of many lifelong friends. She and Joe enjoyed dancing and on most weekends, you would find them on the dance floor.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Vincent Dobos and wife Diane of Vero Beach, FL and twin daughters: Sherry Dobos Carrigan and husband Patrick of Sebastian, FL and Sheila Dobos Pond and her husband John Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Three grandchildren: Geoffrey Dobos, Greg Dobos and Gilian Kapros. She was predeceased by her three sisters: Harriet Ruwet, Marion Hammer and Lucy Begey of Torrington, CT.
There will be a memorial service celebrating Myrtles life on Saturday, May 25 at 12:00 P.M. at the Northfield Bible Church 10 Campville Rd. Northfield. Myrtle will be laid to rest with Joseph at the Northfield Cemetery.
