Obituary of Michael A. Duchene, Sr.
Michael A. Duchene, Sr., age 70, of Diamond, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Michael was born November 21, 1953 in Joliet to the late George and Elmere Duchene. He was a lifelong Joliet area resident, graduating from Joliet West High School, Class of 1971. He worked as a welder, retiring from Caterpillar after 30 years of dedicated service. On December 20, 1997, Michael married Julie Bishop, and the two most recently celebrated 26 years of marriage. Michael was known for being a big fan of "Anything that goes Boom or Zoom". Alabama football (Roll Tide), NASCAR, country music, and motorcycles were a few of the things that gave him enjoyment. His number one love though was for his family. He will be greatly missed.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Julie Duchene; his children, Kristy (Chris) Petrowski, Michael A. (Chelsie) Duchene, Jr., Earl Bishop, Emily (Mike) D'Apice; his grandchildren, Dakota Gordon, Rose Duchene, and Zack, Miley, and Jake D'Apice; his brothers, Denny (Susan) Duchene, Doug (Lisa) Duchene, and Steve (the late Mary Beth) Duchene; and his sister, Pama (Bill) Webb.
He is preceded by his parents; and sister, Sharon Mason.
