Michael Anthony Duchene
February 21, 1990 – November 27, 2025
With profound love and deep sorrow, the family of Michael Anthony Duchene announces his peaceful passing on November 27, 2025, at 11:31 PM at UC Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Michael left this world on a beautiful Thanksgiving evening, with his beloved grandmother Sharon ("Grammy") Sitzmann by his side-an unbreakable bond the two shared so deeply throughout his life.
In his final moments, Michael was able to speak by FaceTime with his mother Tammi Furtado Bonds and his sister Ashlee, allowing them to express their love and for Michael to lovingly say it back. These cherished goodbyes were blessings the family will hold close forever.
Michael was born on February 21, 1990, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to parents Tammi Furtado Bonds and Raymond Duchene. When Michael was just two months old, the family moved to California, where they lived with his Grammy Sharon. Their home grew and their hearts expanded when his sister Ashlee was born, creating a close-knit, joyful family foundation that lasted throughout their lives.
From the age of one, Michael had a love for Madonna, a passion that continued to bring him joy. He enjoyed playing video games, watching TV shows, and humorously observing everyday life. His incredible sense of humor and his warm, loving spirit made him a truly special young man-one whose kindness and heart touched everyone who knew him.
For the past ten years, Michael shared his life with his devoted partner, Danny Mora. Their relationship was filled with love, companionship, and unwavering support. Danny became not only Michael's partner but his caregiver, giving him a beautiful home where they built a life filled with laughter, comfort, and deep devotion. Michael's love for animals was profound, his cherished fur babies Sadie, Petey, and Heaven were truly part of his heart.
Michael is survived by his loving mother Tammi, his father Raymond, his siblings Ashlee, Zebastion, Johnny, Gabe, Raymond Jr., Hadley, Amberleigh, and Roland. He also leaves behind his partner Danny, and extended family who adored him. He was the treasured grandchild of Sharon Sitzmann, Butch Furtado, Julie Ghilarducci, and Roland Duchene Sr.
In his final days, Michael shared with his mother that he hoped his Grammy's dear friend Chris Simmons would meet him at Heaven's gate, even with so many beloved family members already waiting for him. And just before passing, Michael called out twice for his grandmother Eva, who had gone before him many years ago, a tender sign that she was there to lovingly guide him into peace.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, courage, and the gentlest of hearts. His family takes comfort knowing he is now free from pain, surrounded by heavenly peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
His mother, Tammi, shares this message for her children, Michael, and Ashlee:
"You were my life, and I will spend every moment of my life being proud and blessed by God to be your mom-until I can hear you say 'Mommy' again."
Michael will forever be deeply loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
