Samuel Nix

Samuel Nix, 81, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Manteca, California. He was born on June 15, 1944, in Kentucky. Samuel was a 50 year resident of both Tracy and Manteca

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett, Ermine and step dad Carl Vejar and his siblings Charlene, Leroy, Ronald, Danny, Bob, and Jerry.

Samuel is survived by his daughters, Renee Nix and Michelle Phillips; stepdaughters, Corrine Cook and Kelly Rouska; grandchildren Lacey Acosta, David Garrett, Amber Phillips, Samantha Phillips, and Alyssa Orta; and several great-grandchildren.

Samuel retired after 30 years as Vice President of The Bank of Stockton in Tracy, California. He was deeply involved in the Tracy community and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Crime Stoppers, the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, and the Clampers. He especially cherished volunteering each year to help place Christmas lights throughout the City of Tracy.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching the San Francisco 49ers, playing pool and golf, and being with friends and family. Samuel was known for his warm personality, welcoming nature, and constant smile. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
