Mike was a great man and a great boss. I will always fondly remember him. His counsel was straight and narrow. He did not beat around the bush. My time working for him, brief as it was, was refreshing.

I was a Mount Laurel Police Officer. During my tenure Mike was the Detective Sgt and a Lieutenant. He was my supervisor for a short time and was one of the best. He was a straight shoot of the highest integrity. Our job needs more like him.

I had the honor to serve as a Rifle Company Commander under (then) Lieutenant Colonel Dugan when he was the Battalion Commander of the 1st Battalion (Mechanized) 114th Infantry New Jersey Army National Guard. I always respected him and thought he was a leader to emulate who was tough, fair, and didn´t suffer fools. He patiently taught me how to be a better leader and helped guide my professional development. In fact, it was due to his direct guidance that I attended the Command and General Staff Officers Course and there met my future wife.
Respectfully,
Randy Schwartz, LTC (USA Retired)
