Michael Eldridge Obituary

George Michael Eldridge, 75, of Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, finished his last hunt and passed into peaceful rest with his family at his side.

Micheal as he was known by all lived life wide open. In his younger years, he tore up the snow on a Polaris Manufacturing sponsored machine, racing like a man who believed winter existed solely for his entertainment. Later, he joined the Lakes Region Ice Racing Club, eventually becoming a board member mostly because he loved racing, but also because it gave him an official excuse to talk about racing even more.

Traveling with his wife, Diane, was one of Micheal's favorite adventures. They hit many destinations, but Las Vegas and Lancaster, PA held a special place in his heart. Lancaster was the annual gathering of "in-laws and outlaws," antique swap meets, and the legendary drinks in Herb's room where stories grew taller and everyone swore it wasn't their fault.

Micheal also served 14 years as a commissioner with the Center Ossipee Fire Department. He took the job seriously, but not so seriously that he couldn't slip in a joke or two at every meeting.

For 46 years, yes-forty-six, Micheal worked for New Hampshire Electric. He started as a lineman, climbed poles, climbed the ranks, and eventually became Supervisor. He proudly held the title of the longest-serving employee to work in the same district. If the lights were on, chances are Micheal had something to do with it… and if they weren't, he was already on his way to fix them.

His three absolute favorite things were deer hunting with his brothers and family, time with the people he loved, and NASCAR. Honestly, if he wasn't talking about one of those, you should probably assume he was asleep.

Micheal is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Reba Eldridge; brothers Charles Jr. and Rodney; and sister Beverly.

He leaves behind his wife and partner in adventure, Diane; daughter Jennifer; son Erick; grandson Brandon; brother Gordon and sister-in-law Joan; and brother John. He is also survived by a big, well-loved crew of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his honorary grandson, Wynn who always kept him laughing.

Micheal leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, humor, hard work, and adventure. He lived big, loved deeply, and made sure those around him always had something to smile about. His presence will be missed dearly but his stories, and the laughter they bring, will live on.

Visiting hours and services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Lord's Funeral Home in Center Ossipee, NH. Viewing will be from 4:00–6:00 PM, with a service to follow at 6:00 PM.
