Michael Keith Ellis

Mike Ellis 1951-2016 Dallas- Michael Keith Ellis, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on July 16, 2016 at his home. Mike was born June 7, 1951 in Gastonia, son of Lathan Eugene Ellis and Ruby Turpin Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Dean Ellis. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, brother and a friend to many. His daughter and grandkids were the light of his life! He worked in the printing business for 45 years as a pressman. His first priority was his family and his church where he volunteered his time and talents. He was an honorary member of Gaston County Horseman's Association as well as Gaston County 4-H Blazing Saddle Club. His last years were spent working to build Crowder's Ridge Church Camp where he was loved by all. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Kathy Jones Ellis; daughter Staci Ellis Dragon (Daron), his grandchildren, Jessica and Katelyn Kelly, Katelyn and Jonathan Dragon, sisters, Lynda Morrison, Barbara Ford (Ken), and Gail Burdette (Claude); nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 19th at 3:00 p .m. at Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 East Ozark Avenue, Gastonia with Pastor Ronnie Bowers and Pastor Jay Oliver will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. before the service at the church.
