Michael Endozo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Old Bridge Funeral Home - Old Bridge on Mar. 29, 2026.
Michael M. Endozo, aged 76, of Monroe Township, NJ passed away peacefully at home in the

morning of March 28,2026 surrounded by his family.

Mike or Boy as he was lovingly known by family and friends, was born on September 29, 1949

in Manila, Philippines. He was the son of Fernando "Danding" Endozo and Rosalia Mendoza

Endozo, and grew up in Manila as the second of seven siblings. He was preceded in death by

his parents, his brother Bernard M. Endozo, and his daughter Marilou, "Malu' Endozo Luis. He

often shared that his greatest sorrow was the loss of his daughter in 2005.

Before coming to the United States in 1988, Mike worked as a seaman in the Middle East. A

year after his arrival, he was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). Through the grace

and generosity of his dear sister lrynne, his bone marrow donor, he undewent a transplant that

granted him many more years of life.

This life was filled with warmth and joy, lived most fully in the time he spent with his family,

especially his beloved grandchildren: Katrina, Ana, and Jacqui and her husband Dustin, children

of his only son, Joselito, and his wife Kareen; and Lorenzo and Riley, the cherished sons of his

late daughter, Malu, with their father, Lowell. ln them, his spirit lives on, a reflection of the

kindness, humor, and generosity he so freely gave.

While working at Eger Nursing Home, he met the love of his life, Marylou 'Malou" Zaporteza,

at a function in 2004. They were married in 2007, beginning a life together filled with companionship,

laughter, and deep devotion. From then on, he embraced his role as a loving "Tito Mike" to Malou's

children: Mia Rose, Mary Rose, and Raymund.

He called his wife, Malou, his best friend and remained deeply grateful for her unwavering love

from the day they met until the very end, she never left his side. Mike loved to cook, even with a

retired dietitian for a wife, and no one ever arrived at their home without the promise of

something "super sarap,' regardless of calorie content, waiting on the table. The kitchen was,

unmistakably, his domain.

Michael sang with a rich, easy charm, his ballads carrying the kind of feeling that made you

believe he could have held his own on 'Tawag ng Tanghalan." lt was often said that his

melodious serenades first caught Malou's attention, and ultimately, her heart. He dressed with

quiet confidence, rarely needing Malou's guidance, and took particular pride in his remarkable

collection of hats. His handwriting was a work of art, each stroke nearly calligraphic in its

precision. On Valentine's Day, his final gift to her was a carefully handwritten love note. An avid

reader with a head full of trivia, he found joy in sharing what he knew, often with a playful twist.

Above all, he will be remembered for his humor - his love of dad jokes and his effortless wit.

Wherever Mike was, laughter was not far behind.

He and Malou shared many travels around the world. His best souvenirs were the gems of

knowledge he gathered in every place they visited, and the memories they shared together.

Even in his later days, simple pleasures, like a quick trip to Parx Casino, brought a smile to his

face.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Marylou Z. Endozo; his siblings: lrynne Sixon and her

husband Freddie; Rose Moreno and her husband Ludwig; Fernando Endozo, Jr. and his wife

Monina; Shirley Regozo and her husband Rey; and Dario Endozo and his wife Nancy. He also

leaves behind his only son, Joselito Endozo and his wife Kareen, and their children Katrina,

Ana, and Jacqui and her husband Dustin; his son-in-law Lowell Luis and grandsons Lorenzo

and Riley, sons of his late daughter, Malu: stetrdaughters Mary Rose Maravilla, Mia Rose

Dickerson and her husband Giles; and step-son Raymund Maravilla and his wife Carmela,

along with his step-grandchildren Elias, James, Thomas, Taylor, and Sophia.

With gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, family and friends are invited to come together to

honor Mike's memory and celebrate the joy he brought to all who knew him.
