Michael James Farinacci Jr.

Michael James Farinacci Jr., affectionately known as Mike to his friends and family, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 73, in his hometown of Hambden Township, Ohio. Born on July 27, 1952, in Chardon, Ohio, to the late Michael James Farinacci Sr. and Marian Louise (Nee: Park), Mike's jovial spirit and hearty laugh became a signature presence in the community he loved and served throughout his life.
Mike, a proud graduate of Chardon High School's class of 1970, carried the industrious and spirited nature of his youth into his adulthood. His passion for mechanics and a strong work ethic led him to become the respected owner of Farinacci Auto and Truck Repair in Hambden Township, where he generously shared his expertise with the community until his well-earned retirement.
A man of many interests, Mike's zest for life was evident in his love for racing his Porsche race car-an enthusiasm that paralleled the intensity he showed while rooting for his favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University Football. His competitive spirit was matched only by his sense of camaraderie, particularly during his cherished Thanksgiving morning "hunts" with friends-a tradition that brought much joy and laughter to all involved.
Mike's warmth extended beyond his circle of friends and family as he volunteered as a driver for "Meals on Wheels," ensuring those in need were met with friendly conversation and a helping hand. His community will remember him as a man who was not only funny and handy but also exceptionally friendly-a neighbor who could always be counted on.
He leaves behind a loving family: sisters Pamela (Jack) McDonald of Eatonton, Georgia; Patti Farinacci of Chardon, Ohio; Vicki Farinacci of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and brother Jan Farinacci of Hambden Township, Ohio. Mike was a cherished uncle to his nieces Tiffany Cobb and Amanda Zielinski, as well as his nephews Patrick McDonald, Christopher McDonald, Tyler Cobb, Trevor Cobb, John Stapel, and Michael Stapel. He is also survived by his former spouse, Karen Farinacci, of Mentor, Ohio. Mike was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pene Farinacci.
Michael James Farinacci Jr.'s life was one of dedication, laughter, and service. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his legacy will persist through the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit. The community of Hambden Township, enriched by his presence, will deeply miss this remarkable man who made every day brighter for those around him. Mike's departure was sudden due to a heart attack, but the impression he left on this world will be felt for generations to come. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, from 5-7PM at the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, OH.
