Ann Cherie Doersam (nee: Wettstein), age 91, passed away peacefully November 7, 2025, with her children at her side. Born February 27, 1934, to Edmund Fredrick and Ellen Minnie (nee: Huff) Wettstein in Cleveland, Ohio. Ann grew up and lived her life in Chardon, Ohio. She graduated from Chardon High School in 1951 where she was a cheerleader, played the French horn, and participated in musical productions. She worked at Wettstein's Bakery on Main Street after school.
Ann married Justin Doersam on September 12, 1954. They had two daughters and built a home in Chardon where she lived for 61 years. She loved working in her yard and home and raising her family. She enjoyed traveling and visited her daughter Cherie in Atlanta frequently. She loved keeping mementos from everywhere she went.
She started playing piano and then organ at a young age and played the organ at Pilgrim Christian Church for over 50 years, retiring in 2024 at the age of 90. She enjoyed a beautiful retirement luncheon at the church and a wonderful family dinner to celebrate. She also played the organ at different times for Old South Church in Kirkland and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chardon.
Ann taught piano lessons in her home to many Chardon students. Several went on to become music majors in college. She also played for countless weddings, funerals, and school musical programs. She had a beautiful voice and sang for weddings and was in many productions including "The Messiah".
She earned an Associate of Arts degree at Lakeland Community College.
Ann lived a life filled with purpose, faith, and love.
She is survived by her daughters, Cherie Doersam (Jerold Sniderman) of Marietta, GA., Carole (Anthony) Ricci of Huntsburg, Ohio; grandsons Jonathan Sniderman, Evan Sniderman, and Justin Ricci; nieces, Kate Schwindl Watson, Marie Schwindl, Serene Wettstein, and nephew Grey Wettstein; and her beloved sister Diane Ferrick of Newbury,

My musical career as a private piano teacher and accompanist for many, many musicals, working with three broadway choreographers as well as playing for the Moscow Ballet Master Ballet Classes when they came to perform the Nutcracker......I would never have gotten started without the private piano lessons I received for years from Mrs. Doersam. I owe so much to her labors of love not only teaching me but teaching multiple students throughout her years. Thank you so much Mrs. Doersam, you will forever be missed.
