Michael Farler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas Funeral Service - Cabot on Dec. 29, 2023.
Michael Ray Farler, 64, of Austin, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023. He was born on July 5, 1959 in Paducah, Kentucky to Betty Farler and his late father, Carl Farler.
Mike was the most loving husband to his wife and best friend, Kathy Farler. They're relationship was an inspiration to many and has withstood hardship after hardship. He was a provider who would work full-time, come home to take care of his sons and his disabled wife, and get called out in the middle of the night on overtime; all the while battling his own disease.
He was a model father to his sons, Anthony and Joshua Farler. He taught them how to treat strangers and friends alike with respect and dignity. He worked hard to make sure they had the tools to succeed, and they did. Most importantly, he showed them how to take care of their homes and families because they are the most precious things a man can have.
He was the most amazing "Poppy" to his 4 granddaughters: Emma, Allee, Annaleigh, and Adalynn. He was born to be a grandfather and never shied from the job: teasing them, sneaking them sweets, pushing them on the swing, even taking them for a tractor ride. They always made sure to tell Poppy they loved him and gave him a hug before they went home.
Mike was also a friend to so many and had countless stories to tell. He loved to hunt and fish, but he also loved spending time at home just watching a gold rush or zombie show. He liked fixing things and helping his boys out if they needed a tool or advice. He helped Kathy collect antiques and spent hours looking through estate auctions for something interesting. It really didn't matter what it was, he was happy to do it so long as it was with his friends and family.
A Celebration of Mike Farler's Life will be held at Taylor Farms and Venue, 4430 Graham Rd., Jacksonville, Arkansas on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 3pm-7pm for those that would like to share a story or spend time with the family. The family would like to thank Taylor Farms for generously donating their space for the event. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his GoFundMe to help keep the family home.
