Michael Fayad Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care - Robinson Township on Oct. 31, 2024.
Michael K. Fayad, age 52, of Oakdale, PA, passed away as a result of injuries received in a car accident on October 26, 2024. Born in Aliquippa, PA, on October 7, 1972, Mike was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mike was married to his high school sweetheart, Deanna (Luketic) Fayad, and together they built a beautiful family. He was the proud father of Brayden Fayad, Kyla Fayad, and Luka Fayad, and his children were his greatest joy. He was known as a dedicated hockey coach, a gymnastics super dad, and a talented maker of videos capturing moments of any and all occasions.
He is survived by his beloved wife, his children, and his mother, Bette (Falk) Romeo. He was preceded in death by his father, the late Michael Fayad. Mike also leaves behind his brother, Albert (the late Gail) Zalucky; his sister, Bette (Doug) Clegg; and his cherished in-laws, Frank and Sandra Luketic, as well as sister-in-law Heather (Cory) Schuster. He was a beloved uncle to many, including Albert (Abigail) Zalucky Jr., Joyce Zalucky, Nicole (Tyler) Coleman, Jessica Clegg, Maria Clegg, Scott Clegg, and Levi Schuster, and a great uncle to Zackary, Zoe, and Abagail. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A proud graduate of Hopewell High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Mike dedicated his professional life to creating experiences for others. This was seen best in the Casino Travel business that he ran with his father. Based in Aliquippa, this business took him and his customers to Vegas, Atlantic City, and Freeport, Bahamas, and were the source of some of his fondest memories. In his later years, Mike put his energy into managing properties and contributing to the community that made him who he was.
There was nothing Mike enjoyed more than laughing at himself. He was a loyal friend and an even more loyal fan of his Pitt Panthers, which he and his Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers would cheer for and banter about regularly. In recent years, he found an immense love for hockey through the team his sons played for, the Arctic Foxes. It is also where he would find some of the most meaningful friendships that he treasured greatly. As a coach, Mike poured everything he had into the kids on his team, developing their skills, love of the game, and character. Every Wednesday, he put that same vigor into the time he spent on the ice with the Steel City Icebergs special needs hockey program. In his seventh try, Coach Mike finally claimed the playoff championship that had eluded him and his sons for all these years. Coach Mike can now and forever claim that he went out on top.
Friends and family are welcome on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A mass will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Archangel Gabriel Parish (Holy Trinity Church), 5718 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136.
