Michael Fink

Well, hello there folks, it's Michael Fink here, also known as Mike, Daddy, Pops, or PopPop depending on your generation. As Mark Twain once said, "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." But alas, this time, they're not. I'm writing to tell you that I've gone on the ultimate adventure, leaving this mortal coil on June 30, 2024. Born in Middletown, Ohio on June 26, 1977, I've always been a bit of a nomad, but I've spent my last years in Dayton, Ohio, where I've been a reliable, loving, smart, and adventurous husband, father, and business owner.
I've left behind the love of my life, Brittany, who I had the privilege of marrying on February 23, 2023. I've also left my wonderful children, Nevan, Cameron, Aidin, and Adysen, who I hope will always remember their old man as someone who loved ax throwing, camping, fishing, and making a racket with a guitar. My mother Kathy Shoup, my father Bryan Shoup, and my siblings Angelic, Samantha, and Bryan Jr. will also miss me, or at least they better! I've joined my grandparents, Larry and Doris Rice and Rob and Betty Shoup, in the great beyond, and I'm sure they're thrilled to have me.
I spent the last four years of my life running my own construction business, which was always an adventure in its own right. Nothing beats the thrill of building and riding motorized bikes, and I've always been known for my helpful, caring, honest and truthful nature. As they say, "Measure twice, cut once". I hope that everyone who knew me will remember me as that guy who was always up for a laugh, a song, or a fishing trip.
As you all know, I was never one for long goodbyes, so I'll keep this short. My farewell party will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home, located at 1632 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. So swing by, have a laugh, share a story, and remember the good times. I may not be there in person, but trust me, I'll be there in spirit. And hey, don't forget to leave your memories and upload your photos to my memorial page. After all, who wouldn't want to see more of this handsome face? As we part ways, remember my favorite quote, "Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it."
