December 21, 1954 - May 23, 2022
Piedmont, Missouri - Michael S. Fleming, 67, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, peacefully at his home in Patterson. He was born in Cleveland, OH, December 21, 1954, to parents Charles Aloysius and Miriam "Rae" (Johnson) Fleming. Michael lived most of his life in Kansas City, MO, and graduated from Rockhurst High School and University of Missouri (MU). With a love of Boy Scouts, camping, hiking, kayaking and many years in the restaurant business; Michael found his true career in the hills of Southeast MO as concessionaire at Sam A. Baker State Park. Along with his wife and son, they spent twenty-six years, not only establishing their business, but also strong ties within the community and lifelong friendships with many park guests. To celebrate a life well lived, Michael leaves behind his wife: Jody Pence; his son: Elijah Fleming of Patterson; brothers: Charles and Kevin Fleming; niece: Ashley Fleming; sister-in-law: Paula Fleming. Very sorry for your loss. I grew up down the street (70th terrace) from Mike and his brothers. They were all very tolerant of the (annoying) Walter boys invading their space (front stoop). Lots of long summer nights just hanging out. Mike was a great guy.
