Michael William Floores

Michael William Floores, age 66, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 26, 1952 in Corpus Christi, moving to Houston when he was a toddler.
Mike is proceeded in death by his parents, George Lloyd and Betty Jean Floores, and his brother Mark Stephen Floores.

Mike is survived by his wife of 19 years, Patricia (Pattie). His brother Brian Scott Floores and wife Jeannine, sister Julie Ellen Ritch and husband Andre Matlock, stepsons Travis Arbing and Daryl Arbing, grandson Colt Michael Arbing, numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, in-laws, and many dear friends.

Mike worked as a geophysicist in Houston since the early seventies. After graduating from Waltrip High School in 1970, Mike attended Texas A&M in College Station, and then (Southwest) Texas State University in San Marcos. The last few years, Mike was working as a bike mechanic. He was always tinkering, improving, and building his mountain bikes.

He was an avid sports enthusiast. Captain MWF's sailing days brought him much joy, and he loved the competition of racing and participating in the Harvest Moon Regatta with his sailing buddies. He brought home trophies and plaques from his sailing days. He spent the last few years riding and racing mountain bikes. His favorite time was riding the trails, and sharing stories with his many friends. He also won quite a few races and had many accomplishments at this sport.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018
at 13003 Aste Lane, Houston, 77065
