Remembering our Husband, Father, and Friend
Michael Earl Forsberg, affectionately known as Earl, passed away peacefully at his home on Fish Lake in Hancock, WI surrounded by family following a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 20, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, to Earl R. and Bernice F. (Kadlec) Forsberg.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert J. Forsberg, and sister-in-law, Jean (Erickson) Forsberg. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Karen A. (Letter) Forsberg, whom he married on December 15, 1979. He is survived by his children James Forsberg, John (& Valerie) Forsberg, Curtis (& Christine) Rohr, and Carrie (& Andy) Donovan. Michael loved his grandchildren: Saffron, Zane and Camden Forsberg, Mason and Max Rohr, Adam, Eric and Jacob Duda, and Ashley, Madisen and Nate Donovan.
Michael proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. After his service, he enjoyed a long career as a Rate Clerk and ultimately retired from LTL Trucking in 2013. Michael loved the game of billiards in his younger years and remained an avid fan of Star Trek and movies throughout his life. He loved watching Wisconsin sports teams and found joy in feeding the birds.
A visitation from 9-11:00am and memorial service at 11:00am will be held at Stahl Funeral Home, 913 W. North St., Plainfield, WI on Saturday, January 17 th where family and friends are invited to honor Michael’s memory.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Melissa, RN, Mary, CNA, and Kim, RN, from Compassus Hospice Care for their compassion and excellent care provided to Michael and the family during his final days.
