It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael J. Fowler, on July 6th, 2025. Michael was my best friend, my partner in everything, and the love of my life. After bravely battling cancer for 9 years, he succumbed to this terrible disease.
Michael lived life to the fullest with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, a deep sense of honor, and an unwavering dedication to protecting those he loved. A proud Marine with a soft spot for animals, Michael and I often found ourselves caring for strays and dreaming of one day starting an animal sanctuary together.
In honor of his life, his wishes, and the values he held dear, our family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to K9s For Warriors, an organization that was especially close to Michael's heart. This non-profit rescues shelter dogs and trains them as service animals for veterans with PTSD.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marianne Fowler (Morris), sons Trent (Brenda, and children Genevieve and Soren), Colton (Jessica) and daughter, Lacey Poe (Stephen, and children, Rylee and Eleanor), two stepchildren, Chris and Jon Holland, and his mother, Joanne Fowler.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph W Fowler, grandparents, Johnny and Ruby Windham (maternal), and John Weldon and Marguerite Weldon (paternal).
Condolences may be sent to the family in the way of donation to https://donate.k9sforwarriors.org/site/Donation2?idb=1687823902&DONATION_LEVEL_ID_SELECTED=1&df_id=4060&mfc_pref=T&4060.donation=form1&idb=[[S76:idb]]
