Michael Gawronski Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 11, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Michael Gawronski, who left us on June 8, 2025 at the age of 74 after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. A devoted husband and father, he was a man of humor and wisdom with a seemingly endless well of stories. He truly treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, golfing with his lifelong friends, and watching his beloved granddaughters dance and play lacrosse. Mike was hard-working, quick with a joke, gave great advice, and was always there for his kids, providing everything from driving directions to handyman services. He loved a good steak on the grill, and a quality Polish dinner. He served the city of Detroit for 28 years as a police officer.
Mike leaves a legacy through Judy, his wife of 52 years, his children Amy (Joe) Zuccaro, Tim (Thea) and Karen, his granddaughters Alex, Micah, and Hope, his sister Rita (Bernie) Wesol, his brother Tom (Mary), his sisters-in-law Pam and Connie, his nieces and nephews, and his large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rita, his brother Steve, his brother-in-law Bobby, and his nephew Ryan.
Michael's funeral mass will be on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market St. Mt. Clemens. There will be an instate at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Following the mass will be a committal service at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd. Clinton Township.

My condolences to Judy and rest of the family.
Though it has been years since our times just hanging out and on the softball field, Mike made the days memorable. Thank you for that and for being a friend. Rest Easy.
