Jared Michael Gawronski, 23, of Bozrah, passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jared's reserved, thoughtful, intelligent and kind nature endeared him to many including his caregivers, with whom he shared many gracious moments.

He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 2019 and then worked at Cross Sound Ferry in New London, CT. Jared attended the University of Connecticut for Chemical Engineering but later chose to pursue a full-time career at CSF, where he advanced to a supervisory position thanks to his reliability and dedication. Even after his cancer diagnosis, Jared was known for rarely refusing early morning calls or calling out himself. He also formed strong bonds with many colleagues, including Charles, Billy, Virginia, and Kyle.

Jared was passionate about gaming, proudly building his own system. He also excelled in target shooting as a member of the Ledyard Gun Club, quickly earning a reputation as a "natural shot." Jared was also a natural teacher, easily conveying his knowledge to others. His love and ability to analyze music and movies deeply impressed those privileged to know him well.

Jared is survived by his parents, Linda Gawronski (Putnam) of Mystic, CT, and Dwayne Gawronski of Bozrah, CT (fiancée, Deliela Bettencourt of Pawcatuck, CT); his grandmothers, Jacqueline Quercia and Kathleen Gawronski of Norwich, CT, and Carole Putnam of Ocala, FL; his uncles, Steven Putnam of Houston, TX, John Scott Putnam of Canton, CT, and Ryan Sirpenski of New London, CT; his aunts, Wendy L Gawronski (James Simmons) of Oakdale, and Erin Sirpenski of Burbank, CA. He is also remembered by many cousins and extended family.

Jared is also remembered by the children of his father's fiancée, Deliela "Dee" Bettencourt, who cherished him as deeply as her own. They considered him a brother from the very beginning. He is survived by his sisters, Tessiana Bettencourt of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Natalin Chaude (Bettencourt) of Oakdale, Connecticut, as well as his brother, Patrick Bettencourt of Pawcatuck, Connecticut.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jared M. Gawronski ('19) Memorial Scholarship Fund, NFA Foundation, 321 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360. Or donate online at www.nfafoundation.org/scholarships/donate.
