Mr. Michael Duane Goode

Michael Duane Goode, born May 11, 1966; born into eternal life June 12, 2013. Mike died at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Liz Goode, devoted father of Conner and Hannah, and a loving son and brother. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15th at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, Iowa with a visitation on Friday, June 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) Ankeny, Iowa. A vigil service will follow the visitation, at 7:00 p.m. Mike was born in Moline, Illinois to Duane Goode and Judy (McCollam) Herman. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1984. He attended Scott Community College and graduated with a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991. Mike married Elizabeth Long in 1994 and they were blessed with two beautiful children; Conner 14, Hannah 12. Mike lived for his family. He was an avid golfer and loyal supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Mike was the general store manager of Menards in Clive, Iowa and was with Menards for over 20 years. Mike was a kind, passionate, fun-loving person. He was a role model to his children, friends and co-workers alike. Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and aunt and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Liz; children, Conner and Hannah; his father and step-mother, Duane and Sally Goode of Reynolds, Illinois; his mother and step-father, Judy and Barry Herman of LeClaire, Iowa; his siblings, Matt Goode, Mitch Proehl, Mackenzie Mallette, and Crystal Veronda and their families.
