**In Loving Memory of Michael "Mike" James Gredlein**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael James Gredlein, who left us far too soon at the age of 54.

On September 28th, 2024, the world lost a man whose passion for life was as boundless as his love for the people in it. Mike was not only an outstanding athlete, but a successful professional, and in every aspect of his life, he led with heart, kindness, and charisma.

From Pittsburgh, PA, born on February 22, 1970, Mike was the cherished son of Suzanne Jane (Wilson) Luber, and Albert John Gredlein, Jr.

He was known for his infectious spirit and larger-than-life personality. Whether giving his all on the soccer field at Shaler High and Virginia Tech, trying to perfect his swing on the golf course, screaming at the top of his lungs while watching a Steelers or Pens game with his buddies, or simply enjoying the outdoors with his beloved wife, Nikki and their fur babies, Mike lived fully, leaving no moment untouched by joy. He approached life with the philosophy that every day was worth celebrating, and he encouraged everyone he knew to do the same: Take that trip, go to that concert, and never miss out on the opportunity to have fun in life!

Mike's love for Nikki was legendary. She was his world, his anchor, and his greatest joy. Together, they built a life that was rich in love, laughter, and shared experiences. Mike's friends were like family to him, and he would often be the life of the party, bringing people together with his quick wit, his caring nature, and his ability to make anyone feel special. If you were ever in need, Mike would be the first one to offer help—literally giving the shirt off his back if it meant someone else could smile.

To all those whose lives he touched, Mike would want us to remember him with laughter, not tears. Inspired by The Allman Brothers Band’s song "Soulshine," he would remind us, "You got to let your soul shine, shine till the break of day," encouraging us to cherish every moment. His spirit, energy, and love will live on in our hearts forever.

Mike is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nikki; his parents, Albert Gredlein, Jr. and Suzanne (Wilson) Luber; his sister, Jennifer (JJ) Negron and brother-in-law, Eddie Negron; Nieces, Emily (Negron) Hillard and Mariet Hulst; and Nephew, Jeremy Negron, as well as countless friends who became his extended family. While his time with us was too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime.

In Mike’s honor, let us raise a glass, take that trip we’ve been putting off, and remember to live like Mike—fully, freely, and with love at the center of it all. "The Force will be with you. Always." – Obi-Wan Kenobi Rest in peace, Mike. You were the best of us.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date. Please reach out to Nikki Gredlein for additional information.
